Our Endurance Series has been thermally modified to withstand all of the natural enemies of an exterior wood– moisture, rot, mildew, and the elements. It has been engineered without the use of chemicals, ensuring that the handrails are renewable resources from start to finish. The process that makes this 6002 handrail so durable also allows it to be cut in lengths up to 11′.

As with all wood in an exterior application, it is highly recommended to apply an exterior-rated stain and/or sealant to lengthen the product’s lifespan.

StairSupplies is proud to introduce “Mocha”, our proprietary stain sealant for exterior applications. This semi-transparent stain provides a rich, dark pigment for our thermally treated wood products, providing an elegant finish with exceptional benefits. As both a stain and oil-based sealant, “Mocha” provides a broad spectrum of wood protection, including protection from:

• UV damage
• Aging
• Weathering
• Mildew
• Fungus attack
• Fiber rot
• Fiber degradation
• Color degradation
  

Because our stain is oil-based, it is able to soak into the wood effectively, creating an even and long lasting finish. As an added benefit, the stain protects the wood’s surface by repelling water.

As with all exterior wood products, we recommend yearly cleaning and re-application.
