“We had been looking in the neighborhood because we liked the concept of an infill location and the community redevelopment given proximity to Tampa Armature Works,” explains Richard, the owner of one of the two units in the duplex. “We didn’t want anything cookie cutter, and we saw a number of options that did not meet our expectations.”

Then when the COVID-19 situation really locked down much activity, Richard and his fiancée found their home on Frances Avenue. “It seemed perfect the way everything suddenly came together,” he relates. “We loved Tampa and it was simply the right time to move. Interest rates were low, we suddenly were working remotely, and we saw this home. It was walkable to an area that we could see ourselves enjoying.”

The duplex is unusual, as the prospective homeowners saw on an animated flythrough and a virtual reality tour. It didn’t take long for the couple to complete their due diligence and write a deposit check. The developer/builder broke ground in March and Richard and his fiancée moved in in October.

Richard describes their new home this way; “We’re happy with what we have now, thrilled. We have a very open-concept living room, with floating stairs on the left in front of the kitchen. They go to the master suite and laundry, past a small loft that we use for an office space. The second FLIGHT system takes you up to the third-floor office.”

The Viewrail FLIGHT floating stairway system includes black mild steel stringers, built in hockey stick shape, 3-3/4” thick hard maple treads with clearcoat finish, aluminum surface mount posts with black powder coat, 2205 stainless steel rod railing, and round, hard maple handrail with a flat bottom and a clear finish. There are two matching landing platforms with the finish selected to match the flooring.

The couple was able to customize several finish items to their taste, and love the large, two-story windows in the living room that provide an abundance of natural light. “It just feels like quality,” he says.
