Completed Project #301

After raising their girls in Connecticut, this couple started looking for a home that would offer a warmer climate, wonderful views, and a peaceful setting. This Appalachian farm house was everything they wanted, but was sorely in need of a top-to-bottom remodel.

Their modern sensibilities and amazing 360º view made cable railing a no-brainer. Now they can enjoy the view while keeping an eye on the goats, chicks, and “Whisky Mama,” their lovable donkey. Fun fact: donkeys will protect goats from coyotes or other canines.

When asked why they chose the beverage rail, the response was simple: “It holds a wine bottle quite nicely.” I’m sure that’ll come in handy for many mountain sunsets to come.
