Project # 248
Cable Railing Intermediate Posts
Using cable railing with wood posts is an excellent way to achieve a natural, modern design. To use our DriveTite cable railing kits, you’ll need a structural wood post every 8 feet so your system has plenty of strength. You will also want some kind of structure in place every 4′ to prevent cable deflection.
We understand that you probably don’t want to place more structural posts on your deck. That’s why we offer a slim intermediate cable railing post that minimizes cable deflection without blocking your view. Intermediate posts do not provide structural support for your system, but they will keep your cable looking sharp. This particular intermediate post is 3/16″ thick x 1 1/4″ wide x 42″ tall and is made of solid 316 marine grade stainless steel.
This particular intermediate post is 3/16″ thick x 1 1/4″ wide x 42″ tall. It is made of solid 316 marine grade stainless steel and comes pre-bent on the top. In addition, the post is pre-drilled with 12 holes at our standard 3 1/8″ cable spacing. Intermediate posts are designed to be cut down from the bottom on the job site to match your handrail height. They can work on both level and stair applications and come with all the mounting hardware and screws necessary to install the post. Finally, they include a foot cover to give their base a desirable, finished look.
