Our 1″ x 2″ Metal Handrail has been designed as an architecturally correct handrail solution that beautifully completes the modern elegance of a Viewrail cablerail system.
Metal handrails are available in brushed 304 Stainless Steel or 2205 Stainless Steel, and can be powder coated if desired.
Order your handrail with finished ends, and we’ll pre-install our Metal Handrail End Plugs.
Metal Handrail End Plugs must be purchased separately to fill in the open ends of the handrail.
If you need your handrail cut to a more specific dimension, please let us know!

Is it possible to get a slip left hand s fitting with a 5 1/2 offset, or are you able to incorporate that to two different sections of handrail welded and finish and delivered as one piece?

My concern if we tried to manufacture this here, and then ship it to you is that it wouldn’t survive the transit. We could provide you an offset, but then you’d need to have a local welding shop assemble it (unless you just wanted to butt finished ends together.
If a offset is made can it be made as a slip in fitting? (Meaning, the fitting made with 1X2 stock with a 3/4 X 1 3/4 stock inside it (assuming 1/4 inch stock wall) making a lip. The fitting will then be inserted inside the other piece of handrail making the joint.
We could manufacture the fitting, but we don’t carry any material that is 1/4″ less than the dimension of our handrail. You’d have to provide that yourself.
Is it possible to get this in a curved handrail? Our plans call for a curved staircase but we want to do either steel cable or rods for a more modern look.

Yes, we can have our metal handrail curved, there are some radius restrictions. The best way for us to find out for sure that we can match your radius would be for you to send us pictures / plans of your staircase. While we don’t have them online, we also offer rods if that’s what you’re interested in.
Do you have the wall mount brackets that would work for this item online yet?

What is the thickness of the 1 x 2 aluminum Hand rail

Part of my project would have a 4′ handrail between two drywall posts. I don’t want to interrupt the flow with the wall mount brackets on each side. Is there a more hidden option or do you have any picture of this handrail mounted between two drywall areas?
I also have another spot where the cable would be coming off drywall at a 45 degree angle – what are the right tension kits for that?

Absolutely! We would recommend the Postside Handrail Bracket. Be sure to select “Wood Post Mount” under the Primary Option field so that we know to provide you a bracket designed for mounting to a wood post.

Can the handrail be mounted to ends of walls at each end of the railing?

It sounds like our Postside handrail bracket would be what you would need for this application (https://www.stairsupplies.com/product/postside-handrail-bracket/). Make sure when you order to let us know that you’ll be attaching the bracket to a wall rather than a metal post.

Our Metal Handrail doesn’t come with brackets, but our metal posts come with handrail brackets in either our universal top or flat top. We also have several wall mounted handrail options like our VR453 Stainless Steel Handrail Bracket.
